Position: Heritage Interpreter Guide

Rate of Pay: $8.00 per hour – 37.5 hours per week

Description of Duties:
Researching, developing and delivering interpretive talks and tours for the Quoddy Learning Centre and Nature Park..
The student will also be working at the Park’s welcome centre and gift shop as cashier and greeter.
The handling of cash/credit card transactions for admission and cash in/ out procedures.
Become knowledgeable, and answer questions, about St. Stephen and surrounding areas

Qualifications:
· Strong communication skills
· Outgoing, professional, friendly, polite, knowledgeable and courteous at all times
· Must learn and follow proper credit card procedures and cash register functions.

Travel/Tourism

Students entering grades 11 or 12 in September 2008 are eligible for the competition. The employer will select the student(s) for the Business/Education Partnership. Students must complete the employment readiness workshops as outlined in the NBYCC program and any additional training required by the employer.
