District 10 summer Internship

DFO’s St. Andrews Biological Station,
in collaboration with District 10 Science Teachers,
has created an opportunity for an enthusiastic student to spend a summer working with marine scientists.
Applicants must be students enrolled in a District 10 school and must be entering grade 12 in September 2008. The individual should demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm and an interest in marine science, as well as a willingness to work in a variety of marine research-related fields. The successful applicant will work in both laboratory and field settings. The internship will be 6-10 weeks, and the intern will receive a stipend of $2200.00-$3300.00, depending on duration.

Selection will be based on overall suitability of the candidate to the position, including personal interest, as well as background knowledge and skills.
