RE: SCHOLARSHIP, Claire Duclos Education Fund

ARMA International, the Association of Records Managers and Administrators, is a leading professional organization of individuals in the expanding field of records and information management. There are over 10,000 ARMA members in North American and throughout the world. ARMA International is comprised of 145 local chapters, including the Atlantic Chapter, which provides networking and leadership opportunities through monthly meetings and seminars.

The Atlantic Chapter of ARMA International is pleased to inform you of the Claire Duclos Education Fund. The Fund is in memory of Claire Duclos who worked tirelessly to promote our profession and Association. Ms. Duclos succumbed to cancer in 1997 and graciously left a sum of money to the ARMA Atlantic Chapter. We have chosen to use this money to create an education fund to continue to promote records and information management and ARMA, both to which she was very devoted.

Individuals actively pursing an education and/or certification in records and information management residing within the Province of New Brunswick or members of the Atlantic Chapter are eligible for a scholarship. Students enrolled in a full-time program are eligible for a five hundred dollar ($500) scholarship; students enrolled in a part-time program such as correspondence and online courses are eligible for a two hundred fifty dollar ($250) scholarship; and/or individuals pursuing certification (CRM) are eligible for up to a two hundred fifty dollar ($250) scholarship. The number of scholarships awarded per year shall be determined by the Education Fund Sub-Committee.

The successful candidate(s) will be announced in May 2008 and presented with an award at the Chapter’s Annual General Meeting and social held in June. The deadline for this year’s applications is March 31, 2008.

If you have any questions about the scholarship, please contact me by phone at 506.453.6070 or by e-mail at lisette.dugas@gnb.ca.

Sincerely,

LISETTE DUGAS
